It's been quite a while coming, but it's finally here: XNAT 1.7.0 is available for general download!
I'd suggest starting at the most logical place: Getting Started With XNAT 1.7. The top of that page has links to the release version of XNAT, the release version of the XNAT pipeline engine installer, and the XNAT Vagrant project. It also has links to documentation on running an XNAT Vagrant VM, installing XNAT on a server, initializing and configuring XNAT, and more.
XNAT 1.7.0 itself has been extensively tested and validated, as has the pipeline engine. However, we are in the process of re-writing and and editing and re-organizing our documentation and training materials. One of the issues users have had with XNAT over the years has been finding adequate information on how to use XNAT, especially its more powerful but also more esoteric functions. We are very aware of this problem. Now that 1.7.0 has been released, we will be putting a lot of focus and energy into producing quality documentation and training materials. That said, the documentation for 1.7 is very much a work in progress. We've created enough so that you should be able to get started working with this new release, but if you find something missing or incomplete, please be patient! If there's something that you feel is absolutely critical that needs to be addressed, please let us know and we will prioritize the information that our users need the most.
We will be making use of the many ways we have of getting information out to let you know when major updates of XNAT and its supporting materials are available:
We'll be pretty busy creating and updating our content and other available resources and, when something cool becomes available, we'll let you know.
On behalf of the entire XNAT team, thanks a lot for being part of the XNAT community. We really think you'll find that 1.7.0 is a big step forward for XNAT!
