XNAT and OpenID Authentication Plugin 1.3.1

XNAT Has Been Released

XNAT is a hotfix release that addresses a number of issues affecting data storage and user authentication, including regressions inadvertently introduced in XNAT 1.8.9. This release does not introduce any breaking changes for plugin compatibility, but it does enable the release of OpenID Authentication Plugin version 1.3.1.

We introduced fixes in two primary areas:

  • Added or improved support for external authentication providers

  • Fixes for data storage and permissions

You can read the full list of improvements in our XNAT Release Notes.

Upgrading is (fairly) easy!

The upgrade path from XNAT 1.8.x to XNAT is as easy as configuring your war file for the version of Tomcat you're running and dropping the new war file in place. Upgrading from the XNAT 1.7.x line is only mildly more arduous. See the XNAT Upgrade Instructions.

XNAT OpenID Authentication Plugin Release

The XNAT team has been quietly building support for OpenID Authentication to go along with its support for LDAP as a remote authentication providers. Version 1.3.1 is the first fully supported release of this functionality.

Trial users of earlier versions of this plugin should read the installation and configuration documentation to look for minor updates in properties, and also check the OpenID Plugin Compatibility Matrix for version compatibility.
