Will future XNATs still use YUI 2.x?

Much of the UI is based on old versions of YUI, which bloats the page and may be contributing to poor page load times.

Details:
This is an ongoing discussion among the XNAT UI developers (who invited them, anyway?) and the core XNAT development team. Alternative options would be: 

• Upgrade to YUI3
• Migrate to jQuery
• Roll our own
