XNAT 1.9.3.4 Release Notes

The XNAT 1.9.3.4 release contains a few critical patches that are ready for release in XNAT 1.10.0, which allows current users of XNAT 1.9.x to receive those benefits before deciding to upgrade their server environment to JDK21 as required by XNAT 1.10.

This update does not affect plugin compatibility.

Bugfixes and Improvements

  • XNAT-8659: Employ caching of data counts to avoid needing to re-query for available data on every create/delete event, which can cause the XNAT database to run out of connections on very high volume transactions

  • XNAT-8720: Add support for updating readable counts on “Share” and “Move” events for adding data to projects, not just “Create” and “Delete”.

  • XNAT-8722: Fix bugs in file handling and catalog building during downloads when filenames contain non-ASCII characters

  • XNAT-8723: Update JSP rendering to fix a page rendering bug that affected Admin UI pages on Tomcat 9.0.116 and later

  • XNAT-8724: Update collection of total counts in DefaultGroupsAndPermissionsCache for thread-safety and accuracy

  • XNAT-8725: Improve how the DefaultGroupsAndPermissionsCache reacts to events and updates counts for guest browsing of public data

New Modality Support

  • XNAT-8701: When importing Breast Tomography data (SOP Class 1.2.840.1008.5.1.4.1.1.13.1.3), treat scans as xnat:mgScanData and build image sessions as xnat:mgSessionData
